This is the hem from my outfit I wore on Eid. I love the colour combination and detail of the embroidery. Eid al Fitr is the celebration that comes after a month of fasting and I enjoyed the day with my family eating lots of great food and sharing lovely gifts. See my sisters’ blogs Happy Muslim Mama; Harlequin Tea Set and JoJo Jeenius for their accounts of the day

Cherry picking
I have recently been spending a bit of time in the garden as the temperature has soared in London to try and get some fresh air. Whilst there I have been eyeing up the neighbours cherry tree which I have watched become full of cherries.
Here they are nearly ripe, and the photo was taken about a week or so ago but they still look so nice.
Luckily for us our neighbours are really lovely and seeing me in the garden they kindly said I could help myself to pick the cherries off the tree as they’d only get eaten by birds (there’s so many cherries, plus our neighbours, like us, are fasting so there’s only so much you can eat once the fast opens)
As they were now a deeper red and looked ripe and juicy I decided to pick some
They look so great on the tree itself and great in photos. The red looked really crisp against the green leaves
Here is what I picked, and there were loads more but I didn’t want to pick too many in case we couldn’t finish them
And the verdict? They were absolutely gorgeous, they tasted really sweet and fresh and they didn’t have any blemishes at all. And best of all I know they were grown without any pesticides used. I’ll certainly be picking more when I get the chance.
We have a plum tree and a pear tree in our garden and as they become ripe over the next couple of months I’ll certainly be keeping an eye on them. I’d love to hear what others have growing in their back garden.

I really like how the tree looks against the dramatic pink and grey sky. This was taken on my phone and I was pleased with the colours that came out
Flower of the tropics
This flower is called Heliconia and has a very vivid orange colour. It certainly stands out as an unusual yet beautiful flower to me
Feroza launch
I have been working over the past few weeks on a new online shop with my three sisters Happy Muslim Mama, Harlequin and JoJo called Feroza, and good news, its the official launch today!
We are selling South East Asian influenced jewellery and Islamic accessories as well as handcrafted cards and anything else that’s beautiful, cool, fun or geeky that fits our style.
We named the shop Feroza which was our grandmother’s name, who was treasured by us all and it also means turquiose which is our mum’s favourite colour.
Here’s some of the items that we are selling at http://feroza.myshopify.com/
You can like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and join us on Pinterest
So, please visit our shop, spread the word and please tell us if there is anything you think you would like to see in our shop, what you think works well or what we can improve on
Lifeguard’s view point

I really like how the sky and clouds are lightly reflected onto the wet sand. And it’s cool to think of lifeguard surfing to the rescue
Weekly Photo Challenge: The Sign Says
Aside
So, I thought I’d have a go at the weekly photo challenge on WordPress this week. This is a photo I took when walking around London, and I thought it was a cheeky alteration to the ‘stop’ sign, so took a quick snap

I also found this Banky picture on my wonderings which is also very apt, and I love Banksy artwork, so I had to include it
Dusky oil painting

This photo really reminds me of an oil painting and I love the way it looks as though the sun has left a blazing trail across the sky
