This is a photo I took of fir needles that had turned a lovely burnt orange colour last Autumn. I think the vibrancy of colour and the small details of these pine trees really make for an interesting image
I really like how this pretty white spiral staircase contrasts against the shapes, sizes and textures of the various green leaves that rise alongside it
I love seeing blossoms and buds emerging on trees to signal that Spring has arrived and nature has started afresh. I especially like this combination of colours; pink, white and green with the blue sky as a backdrop which makes for a pretty picture
This greenhouse is called Temperate House and can be found at Kew Gardens. It is currently being restored and is closed off to the public but I like how it sits in this image with the pagoda almost a silhouette in the distance. The most arresting part of the image, for me though, is the cloud filled sky which was captured just as the sun was beginning to set, making it feel as if they could almost let off a light all of their own
I got this composition almost by accident; I was out in my garden with my camera and as I went to pick it up off the garden table I noticed that it was pointed in the direction of the fence which had vertical lines like those of the table.
I really like this image because the lines of the table draw your eye up towards the fence which continues the verticle line. The light falling on the table brings a contrast in colour to that of the fence which helps to convey greater depth. I think the top of the chair also helps to break up the image. I think this is an nice example of how simple lines, colours and light can be used to create a a refreshing composition even with ordinary, day to day objects. I’d love to hear what your thoughts are, what you’d change if anything and if you can give me any tips
I thought I’d try and take some more macro shots as it’s been a while. I quite like this one but it’s not quite as sharp as I would like. I’ll keep trying though and hopefully post some more macros images soon
I love the range of colours, shapes and sizes used in these scarf (or hijab) pins that can be used to dress up an outfit by adding a splash of colour or a hint of a sparkle. My particular favourite is the blue one which is nice and bright for upcoming summer days.
