I love this leaf; the bright green colour with the stark white trim around the edge, and the texture of the grooves joining at the stalk. The leaf is deep and almost cup-like and I can just imagine drinking a cool, refreshing drink when it rains.
My sister and I went to a wedding recently and when we went for a walk I saw these pretty flowers that I just had to photograph. Little did I know that I was also being snapped!
I saw this beautiful sun beam yesterday afternoon. I caught it from a blacked out window (in a moving car) which helped show the sun rays filtered through the fluffy clouds.
My sister kindly brought my mum a mini orange tree with mini oranges to plant in her garden.
I’m not sure how it will do seeing as orange trees usually need a warmer climate to thrive in but we’ll be keeping an eye on it and the mini oranges.
It was my niece’s first birthday recently, and her mum (my younger sister) decided to throw her a birthday bash. The theme, in case, you haven’t guessed, was a very girly, pretty, ‘pink’. My sister, who is very talented in making cakes, made a beautiful birthday cake with matching cupcakes and biscuits, and if that wasn’t enough, she also had a sweet table with all things sugary and pink too.
I thought the cake was lovely; I especially liked the ruffles in different shades and the sparkly tiara as a finishing touch.
My niece received lots of presents and birthday cards from loved ones, and seemed to thoroughly enjoy her party. I pray that she has a happy, healthy, long life ahead of her.
Those that have been following my blog for a while know I love a close up of a pretty flower. I especially like tulips which look elegant and fun, and come in an array of colours. This such flower has petals with interesting pink strokes, almost making them look like bird feathers.
This old Turkish cannon can be found at the Household Cavalry museum in London. I like the how decorative the wheels and base are, and seem to fit into Middle Eastern stye embellishment.
I think this is such a pretty flower and although some might consider it simple, I like that’s it’s easy on the eye and bright in colour.
Eid Mubarak to everyone who is celebrating Eid-al-Fitr after a month of fasting. I hope your day is filled with happiness, fun and thankfulness to Allah (God) for all his blessings.

I love roses and the white ones I find especially elegant. This beauty is growing in our garden which I luckily can admire everyday.
