Southend trip

It’s been incredibly and unusually hot this summer so with a week off work I decided to take a trip down to the coast, the nearest being Southend on Sea. It was a humid and overcast day but I decided to make the most of my time. Here are a few pictures I took.

I walked along the longest pleasure pier in the world which is always a must for me. I enjoyed the stronger breeze as I reached the end which was a bonus. Walking back to shore I then walked along the beach and enjoyed the cold water, helping me to cool down.

There was some cool artwork around, I loved how they made the bollards next to the roads more creative and colourful.

I think my favourite were these umbrellas hanging inside the nearby shopping mall

I had a relaxing and cool visit and as the sun became lower in the sky I made my way home.

Stylist Live event

I recently went to a fashion event in London that my sister was able to get free tickets to. The event was called Stylist Live in relation to the fashion magazine that circulates around the UK. The event was a chance to see new up and coming products, have make overs and attend workshops and talks by industry leaders.

On arrival we saw the sparkling, gold display that marked the entrance.

Inside we were able to grab a fancy drink and have fun in the magazine cover style photo booths.

Walking around the many stalls we saw lots of unique products as well as interesting gift ideas for Christmas such as personalised baubles and lipsticks to natural based candles and soaps.

It wasn’t all about buying though, there were lots of workshops running throughout the day that you could attend and learn from. Lots were popular and booked up in advance but we did have a go at painting a clutch bag, which was fun. There were also relaxing spaces around the arena for colouring giants walls and print outs or to take photos against fancy backdrops.

It was a fun evening where we were able to see lots of interesting products, try free samples and have makeovers. I’m sure others enjoyed it as much as we did and maybe we’ll attend again next year.
