During Ramadan I watched the cherries on the tree in the garden grow, redden and become ripe. There was no sense in picking them though as there wasn’t a lot of time (or stomach space) for cherries, but on Eid the family all got together and picked the big, juicy cherries that had been tempting us for so long. Here’s some of the hundreds that we picked, and that were thoroughly enjoyed by all.
I saw this iconic route master yesterday in London. They’re not used for public transport anymore but I think it’s great that this one has been hired for a special wedding party.
Along with the bus there was this slick, classic looking car which I’m guessing was waiting to whisk away the bride and groom after the ceremony.
I love seeing iconic, classic artifacts be part of special occasions and still valued, even if they aren’t needed every day.
There’s nothing like the simplicity and vibrancy of tulips to bring cheerfulness to a room and demeanour, especially on a cold, winter’s day.
This may seem like quite a simplistic picture in colour and composition, but it holds lots of textures and detail, if you look closely. The composition of the bench and the block rows of the flower colours really make this photo easy on the eye, almost aligning to rule of thirds. The red and pink flowers pop against the dull greys, which I really like, and the detail of the individual flowers and the bricks add depth.
We’re currently having some work done to the house, extending the kitchen space to make it bigger and fitting in a new bathroom. I can’t wait for the results but it’ll be a couple of months yet before its all complete. Until then there’ll be lots of noise and dirt to contend with.
We’ve had deliveries of lots of raw materials and as I keep an an eye on how things develop over summer I aim to capture lots of details and memories.
During my trip to Kew a few years ago I was lucky enough to capture what I thought was a nice photo of a robin. On my trip back a couple of weeks ago I was really happy at managing to capture this image of the bird. I love seeing robins with their red breasts and it always makes my day when I spot one.
The ArcelorMittal Orbit at Stratford, London is the UK’s largest sculpture and observation tower. On a cold winter’s night the warm red glow under the bright moon makes it look like a welcoming fairground ride.
It’s Remembrance Day today, a day to remember those that died in the line of duty since World War I. A poppy is worn on the days leading up to November 11th and at 11am today a minute’s silence will be held across the UK to think of those that fell.
