Its still too early for daffodils but my mum picked these up from a local shop and they really do make the kitchen brighter and more cheerful for this time of year, which I thought I’d spread around

Pause
I really like this picture, the rose buds on pause, waiting for Spring to arrive so they can open and become beautiful roses. I think they look pretty interesting now though; a sea of rustic, orangey-red, wavering in the soft breeze, an image of patience for what’s soon to come.
Pine tree protection
Nature always has a way of protecting the things that are vulnerable. In this instance the soft, fuzzy, growing pine seed/cone is protected by the sharp needles of the tree keeping away animals that may want to eat it.

Goodbye 2014, Hello 2015
Well, we’ve reached the end of 2014, and it’s been an interesting one for me, in terms of family related events and photo opportunities, both of which I hope have allowed me to grow in my skills and as a person. I would like to share below my favourite photos from this year, and to also wish you all a happy New Year wherever you are and whatever you decide to do to welcome in 2015. I hope its a happy, healthy adventurous 2015 for all of us
Floating leaf
I thought this was a nice photo opportunity; to capture a lone floating leaf in clear blue water which fills the fountains in Trafalger Square, London. I really like how the light dances on the surface of the water, creating a sense of movement with the worn tiles on the bottom adding texture and detail.

Peaceful view
This is such a peaceful, aesthetic place to rest, I wouldn’t mind taking a seat and enjoying the Autumnal view right now
Icy leaf
It’s started to get colder in London, with thin ice forming on anything left outside in the early mornings. This Autumnal leaf has had a dousing too, and I think it looks pretty with the white icy outlines
Focus on the edge
I fancied posting a pic of something bright and colourful today, especially as we are having cloudy, grey days in London at the moment. I really like this photo of a tulip and how the vivid purple petals are in sharp focus, up close to the lens, with a softer focus on the bright green leaves in the background, adding a splash of color. The white space makes the green and purple stand out in contrast making for a simple yet striking image.
