I really like this photo which shows so many different varieties of trees, each in their own shapes, sizes and shades. Together they create an interesting composition and a colourful landscape

Red brick
This grand red brick building is located in Central London and near my work place. At lunch times I often like to walk under the archways and through the square, admiring the colours and detailed architecture

1920’s bridal shower
You may have wondered where I’ve disappeared to this last week; I haven’t forgotten to post I’ve just been super busy helping with preparations for my younger sister‘s wedding which is coming up fast. In the last couple of weeks my family have been celebrating and having lots of fun with parties and planning for the upcoming event.
My sister-in-law threw a 1920s bridal shower and as we all had fun at the last one we were looking forward to it
The colours to go with the theme were red, white and black and my sister-in-law’s lovely house was the perfect setting
There was also some tasty food to eat; chicken skewers and fruit tarts and my other younger sister brought along a lovely chocolate cake she made
My older sister made a pretty banner to add to the decor and there were also pearls and feathers which looked great. Even the babies wore flapper dresses and puffy dresses that looked cute (my niece pulled the feather out of her hair in this pic)
We played ‘pin the moustach on the groom’ which was fun and I came pretty close to winning but I think the babies enjoyed themselves the most, getting lots of attention and running around together
Next is the Henna (Mehndi) party which will have lots of colour and which we are all really excited about. Pictures coming soon

A red drop
I was out and about in London, Knightsbridge recently and came across this interesting art installation.
I have no idea who created it or what for but I really like the layers of glass that have been used to build up the drop in a vivid red colour
I would love to hear from you if you have more information about this artwork. In the meantime I’ll just enjoy it as it is and keep an eye out for more interesting objects about town
Eid Mubarak 2014/1435
Today is Eid-al-Fitr so I’d like to wish a happy Eid to everyone who is celebrating the end of Ramadan. I hope you all have a great day with family and friends and enjoy the delicious food. I also pray that people around the world who are in any difficulties are relieved of them soon
Summer fruits
This year Ramadan has fallen over the month of July, and whilst the days are long and getting hotter as the days pass, one thing we all look forward to are the delicious, mouth watering summer fruits that are prepared and ready to be eaten soon after we break our fasts, for some much needed refreshment. I think my favourite has to be the watermelon, what’s yours?
Deep red
The rich, deep red colour of the petals of this flower are quite nice to see in summer and are a change from the bright, lighter coloured flowers that are in bloom at the moment. I think they create a striking image against a lighter background
Scarf pin jewels
I love the range of colours, shapes and sizes used in these scarf (or hijab) pins that can be used to dress up an outfit by adding a splash of colour or a hint of a sparkle. My particular favourite is the blue one which is nice and bright for upcoming summer days.
